EQUINOX-3D is shareware software, meaning that you can download and install it on as many computers as you want, as long as all the the author information is left intact.

Q: How actively is it being developed?
A: I'm working on EQUINOX-3D today more actively than ever! It has become such an integral part of my life that I can't imagine not working on it.

Q: I get many questions regarding if and when EQUINOX-3D will go open source.
A: It is mostly open source already. About 80% of the source code is included in the package and I'm planning to make it buildable soon. If I ever decide to stop (not going to happen), I'm planning to fully open source it, so others can pick up development.

And now, some legalese:
I don't mean to scare you away, just want to protect my rights to my work :)
I'll be very easy-going with permissions, I promise.

use of the accompanying software and documentation ("Software").

This Software is a 3D computer graphics and design package, designed for 3D modeling,
animation, rendering, CAD/CAM and many other purposes.

   I, Gabor Nagy ("Author"), retain all copyright and other legal rights to it.
   I have full documentation that I developed it myself, not for anybody else, and not
   for any employer.
   EQUINOX-3D is in no way associated with any of my past employers, or with
   my work there.
   If any of them decide to use the Software, they are free to do so under this
   license, like anyone else.

2. Limited License Grant. I grant to you ("Licensee") a license for both non-commercial
   and commercial use of the Software, without fee.

3. Restrictions. Software is my copyrighted information and title to all copies is
   retained by me.
   Software may not be redistributed, leased, assigned, or sublicensed, in whole or in
   part, without the prior written permission of the Author.
